My religion is kindness

Welcome to Adelaide to the 14th Dalai Lama. Rosanna and I spent an inspirational couple of hours listening to him speak about secular ethical morality.

Mandala

The Buddhist monks welcomed the Dalai Lama to Adelaide with this amazingly colourful sand mandala.

Welcome to the refugees in Australia.

If we are all people we are all equal. We are united to end mandatory detention.

Some kids just never want to grow up.

Jeff Wall Photography

A visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art tantalised us with an exhibition of Photography by Geoff Wall... capturing spontaneous moments like the boy falling from the tree and a gust of wind catching a folio of papers and set up ones like my favourite above with a chaotic room, it's ceiling filled with light globes.

Pizza oven scones.

When you don't have an oven and really want scones and jam and cream you just have to improvise. Delicious!

So happy to be outta there

Maxie's first taste of dog kennels was not as she had hoped so she just couldn't get enough fresh air on the way home and shook for about the first 30 minutes.

Beautiful Australia

Rockin' it in Castlemaine

Just like "back in the day" when we headed north for the annual road trip...(that took mum and dad days to prepare for 'cos the house had to be cleaned etc etc etc...), we stopped off for some Castlemaine Rock. It's still exactly the same as the mint candy that we bought in yellow and red tin over 40 years ago. Luckily some things never change.

Family bonding.

The car's all packed, and  we must be ready to go as we can't fit anything more in...even the dogs are on laps till we can drop them off en-route at some kennels. It's a great opportunity for some enforced family time. I love it!
