Blondes

Brilliant pure white Kangaroo paw at Lesueur NP

Leseur National Park

This Park boasts 900 different floral species and it seemed most of them were in flower, when we visited. With it's proximity to the white sand dunes and the sea it was quite a feast for the eyes. We counted over 100 varieties of wild flowers.

Seafood Feast

The Pinnacles W.A.

Nambung National Park more commonly known as "the Pinnacles" is another of Nature's treasures with its ancient limestone peaks jutting from the sand after the sea receded 25-35,000 years ago. the Nesting Galahs were an added bonus as the sun lengthened the shadows.

Almost equal.

Brothers stretching upwards together. Not long now Tim before your baby brother towers over you.

Deserted

One of the reasons I love Australia so much is the sense of space we have....almost everywhere...with our deserted white sand beaches, amazing forests of towering karri trees with barely a person in sight and roads that seem to stretch for infinity.

The first shoots

The vines in Margaret river are just beginning to shoot their new canes for the season, turning the rows a verdant green.

Lookout!

The giant Karri trees near Pemberton (likely to be over 250 years old) have been fire look outs for the last 80 years and provide a perfect vantage point from which to spot the first sign of smoke in this dense forest.
Amazingly in this nanny country of ours, we were still allowed to climb these, with gaps between the pegs easily big enough for a child to fall 100s of feet to their death.
We climbed all 3 of them 75mts (the Dave Evans Bicentennial tree), 65mts (the oldest Gloucester tree), and 56mts (the Diamond tree) and even the kids survived.
Luckily our most serious injury was still muscles.

Hidden beauty

A hidden lake in the forest. Perfect for a picnic.

Beer tasting at Eagle Brewery.

Delicious!

Child labour!!

Tim and Bodhi and their cousins enjoying the serenity of the Karri forest.
